Propane can be prepared from following compounds as follows:-
.
1). From CH3CH2CH2COONa:- By Kolbe's electrolysis and also by treating with soda-lime.
2). From CH3CH2CH2Cl:- Wurtz reaction converts alkyl halides into alkanes.
3).From CH3CH=CH2:- From alkene Sabatier Sanderen's reaction convert it to alkane.
