On treating silver propanoate with bromine gas it gives ethyl Bromide and Silver Bromide and releases carbon dioxide gas it is a kind of decarboxylation reaction in which the number of carbon decreases in the product by one as compared to the reactant
CH3CH2COOAg + Br2 --> CH3CH2Br + AgBr + CO2 gas
