up.Anisole undergo bromination with bromine in ethanoic acid (acetic acid) to form mixture of ortho and para bromo anisole. It is an example of electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction. H atom attached to benzene ring is replaced with bromine atom. Methoxy group is ortho para directing group.
