Yes you are correct gem dihalide are those compounds which have two halogens attached to the single carbon and when two halogens are attached to adjacent carbons then it is called as vicinal dihalide

U r absolutely correct. The other category of dihalides is Vic. Dihalides in which halide atoms are attached to adjecent C atoms.
It is Ethylidene dibromide.
