Its true that electronegativity of fluorine is more than that of Cl....
But because of the small size of F atom there will be repulsions between  the incoming electron and the existing electrons....so electron affinity of Cl is more than that of F....
This is exception and its an important question...

Electronegativity of F is greater because of small size and interelectron repulsion.Also Cl has somewhat sheilding effect than F. Hence the nuclear attraction is reduced.The affinity of Cl is exception. Affinity rather decreses down the group.Note the above pt. Questions are often asked on this pt.
