the tension on the surface of the liquid caused by the attraction of particle in the surface layer from the bulk of the liquid , which tend to minimize the surface area . is called as SURFACE TENSION . 
VAPOUR PRESSURE is a simple thing , suppose you take a container and take some water inside it and heatr it , and then close the container fully so, that the gas cannot escape outside ./ 
so, that gas or vapour will generate a pressure over the surface of liquid , that is called as vapour pressure . 
kinetic theory describe a gas as the large no of subatomic paticle all of which are in constant rapid motion that has randomness arising from their many collision with each other and with the walls of the contanieer
