One can use Wurtz reaction followed by reaction with cyanide followed by hydrolysis and then reduction of carboxylic acid.
CH3OH + PCl5 ----- CH3Cl +Na ------------ CH3CH3 + Cl2 ---------- CH3CH2Cl + CN --------------- CH3CH2CN + H2O ------------- CH3CH2COOH + NaBH4 ----------------- CH3CH2CH2OH

If it is on paper, you can do this:

  1. Convert MeOH to MeBr with HBr
  2. Convert the MeBr to Me-Mg-Br (Gringard reagent)
  3. React it with acetaldehyde to abtain 2-propanol
  4. Dehydrate the 2-propanol to Propene
  5. Hydroboration-oxydation of the propene will give you propan-1-ol.
