In aryl halide due to resonance double bond is present between halogen and carbon of aryl group to which it is attached. So bond length decreases. In case of alkyl halide no resonance is there and bond length is greater than aryl halide . Since dipole moment increase with increase in bond length so it is greater for alkyl halide
