Potassium dichromate, K2Cr2O7, is a common inorganic chemical reagent, most commonly used as an oxidizing agent in various laboratory and industrial applications. As with all hexavalent chromium compounds, it is acutely and chronically harmful to health.
1- when heated it decompose to its chromate
2- with alkali its converted into chromate which on acidifying convert back to dichromate
3- in dichromate solution the ions are in equilibrium with cro4 ^ 2-
PROPERTIES OF KMNO4
1- it will crystallize as a dark purple crystals with greenish lustre .
2- it is soluble in water to an extent of 6.5 gram per 100 g at room temp .
3- it is a powerfull oxidising agent .
4- the permanganate ion responsible for oxidising charecter .
HOPE IT HELPS
ALL THE BEST ..
