can you give me a formula for finding no. of isomers for carbon compounds???

When molecule is symmetrical the number of isomers
when even number of stereocentres => 2^(n-1) + 2^(n/2) – 1
For odd number of stereocentres => 2^(n-1)
 
When molecule is asymmterical
Total number of isomers => 2^n
