Hi there.. Victor Meyer test`s reagent is Red P+I² ->AgNO2-> HNO2-> Alkali... It`s results are:-1.primary alcohol gives blood red colour........ 2.secondary alcohol gives the blue colour....... 3.tertiary alcohol does not produce any colour... Hope you get it..

the most important methods of identification of alcohols. In this methods primary,secondary and tertiary alcohols are subjected to a series of chemical analysis and the colour of resulting solution is observed.Results area.
