Can anyone please explain me the mechanism of the reaction of CH3–CO–NH2 with SOCl2.

In
 CH3–CO–NH2 the Oxygen atom would always get away with SOCL2 and SO2 gas would be released with H atom of NH2+ with reaining Cl the produt would be HCL.
And therfore CH3 – CN would form as a final product.
