Hello Student,

Ortho effectis applicable to benzoic acids and anilines. It states thatorthosubstituted benzoic acids andanilinesare more acidic than benzoic acid and anilinerespectively. Thiseffectis not dependent on the nature of the substituent (e- donating or e- withdrawing).
