Preparing for IIT-JEE, first read NCERT Boooks well and only then you can follow OP Tondon Books or Solomons, but first of all you should read Ncert a number of times.
Read Solomons for your refence and it should be done by keeping in mind the syllabus of IIT-JEE...............................................

I think petter sykes is very interesting book from this you can born an insect of organic chemistry in your mind but for any competitive exams first read 2 to 3 times first ncert deeply then go through any supplementary books
