from aqueous phenol and ethanol,which is more acidic

Hi neha, 

according to me phenol must be more acidic than ethanol because phenoxide ion is stabilised by resonance over complete ring of benzene whereas in ehanol case, due to + I effect of ethyl group the anion formed will me less stable

of course phenol is more acidic than ethanol......due to resonance

Compared to aliphatic alcohols, phenol is about 1 million times more acidic!
