Benzyl chloride is a  primary alkyl halide and undergo SN2 rapidly.

benzylic halide follows sn1 mechanism always...............the order of halides going sn1 rxn is
BENZYL>ALLYL>TERTIARY>SECONDARY>PRIMARY>METHYL
bcoz of stability, benzyl & allyl r resonance stbilised
