CH3CH=CHCH3 + H2SO4 → CH3CH(OH)-CH2CH3 + HCl + ZnCl2 → CH3CH(Cl)-CH2CH3
   But-2-ene                               Butan-2-ol             Lucas reagent     2-Chlorobutane

CH3CH(Cl)-CH2CH+ CH3CH2ONa → CH3CH=CHCH3
                              Sodium Ethoxide
