ACETONE IS COMMON NAME BUT PROPAN-1-ONE IS IUPAC NAME.

no they are not same.. acetone is propane-2-one..

u cant say both of them same as there properties differ.

if propanone is written then we will take propane-2-one.

propane-1-one will be an aldehyde...n so dr is actually nthng lyk propane-1-one else it would be called propanal.
