suppose i have a four membered ring..carbocation is formed outside the ring..now while drawing the structure..how do we draw the expanded ring structure??? where to take the outside carbon? where to give the positive charge? please explain in detail with a diagram.

The expansion depends on the structure of the ring ,

If the ring is symmetric then expansion can take place anywhere,

The answer may vary for different examples,
