What is STATE OF A FUNCTION? Also tell me about STATE OF A SYSTEM? Plz sir.... give me satisfied answer.

Dear Student

State means the values of coordinates which are used to describe a quantity. like position of a point is denoted by x and y coordinate. state of a gas is denoted by its Pessure, temp values etc. state functions are those functions which depend on initial and final state. what happened in between doesn't matter. if you know the initial and final state then you can calculate the required quantities.
