The end product of the reaction A alkane B carboxylic acid C ketone D sodium salt of carboxylic acid I knw that A is methanal but is the final product a salt of carboxylic acid (option D) or carboxylic acid (option B) bcos with NaoH HCHO undergoes cannizaro reaction and hence it would form D or B???? I guess D is formd first and then on hydrolysis gives B ....so D must b the ans > Am i right or what ??? Pls help aieee exam approaching !@!!

A is methanal ..

now due to absence of alfa hydrogen it undergoes cannizaro  reaction ...

first HC00Na is formed & after hydrolysis it forms HCOOH ...

most correct is d)
