option c is correct ,

x is CH3CH(OH)(CN)

after hydrolysis CN converts to COOH  , but remember if partial hydrolysis is given then amide

is formed insted of COOH ...

yes, u r ryt..true ans is option C...

bcoz when aceteldehyde react with HCN it forms aceteldehyde cyanohydrin and then upon hydrolysis gives corresponding acid...
