Which of the following orders is not correct regarding the -I effect of the substituents ??

(a) -I<-Cl<-Br<-F
(b) -N+R3<-O+R2

(C) -N+R2<-OR<-F

(d) -SR<-OR<-O+R2

The ans is given as (a) which i think is wrong

it must be (d)

order of electronegativity is F>Cl>Br>I , inductive effect directly proportional to

electronegativity of atom attached so in a) after F they have written Br which is not true..

the correct ans should be I<Br<Cl<F because -I effect is shown by electron withdrawing group,it means -I is directly proportional to electronegativity.and since elecronegativity decreases from F to I so the correct ans will be I<Br<Cl<F
