Brilliant tutorials' module says that "When a meta-directing group is meta to an ortho/para-directing group, the incoming group primarily goes ortho to the meta-directing group rather than para.", but it does not follow this property in its questions (for instance, the very first example on the next page). Should this property be followed? how to approach such questions?

Yes this is a fundamental rule as mentioned in Brilliants tutorials.

The example might be an exception or you please post that example so that we can clarify in a much better manner..
