Dear student,
The hidden C-C bond in the Newman projection will be a vertical line in the Fischer projection. Mentally rotate one of the carbons so that the substituents are eclipsed in the Newman projection, each with one substituent pointing straight down. The substituents that are now pointing to the left and to the right will point to the left and to the right in the Fischer projection. The substituents that are pointing straight down will point straight down or straight up in the Fischer projection.
