Can these compounds be said to be aromatic? Compounds like succinic anhydride having the 5 membered cyclic furan like structure when tautomerized form 2-2' hydroxy furan. But wherever i've read they are denoted in their anhydride form not in the aromatic form(when tautomerized).I've encountered the same problem with NBS(N-bromo succinamide)which assumes the pyrrole form when tautomerized. If the aromatic form is more stable than why do these compounds exist in their anhydride form (or rather denoted). Why can't these compounds be said to be aromatic? And if they are aromatic they should be very stable and should not give their usual reactions like hydrolysis and stuff. Why is it so?
