  • AS WE ALL KNOW FROM 2nd LAW THAT     F \alpha dP/dt
F = d(mv)/dt
  • if mass is constant then........
F =m.dv/dt
F =ma
  • if velocity is constant then
F = V.dm/dt

Dimensional formula of mass is represented by [M]

Dimensional formula of length is represented by [L]

Dimensional formula of time is represented by [T]

Force = mass x acceleration ………..(1)

Acceleration = velocity/time

Acceleration = (displacement/time)/(time)

Acceleration = (displacement /time^2)

Acceleration = (length/time^2)

Acceleration = [L]/[T]^2 = [LT^-2]

From equation (1)

Dimensional formula of force = [M] x [LT^-2]

Dimensional formula of force = [MLT^-2]
