Refer the opening and closing ranks of last year.
According to the trends CSE is a slight better than chemical.

But again, all the things dependson where your interest lies and on what criteria you want comarision.

In technical job placements, CSE will hold a advantage which chemical can not over ome in the core jobs but at the same time there are various other jobs available with IITM students which are lucrative.

At the end you have to decide.
