A form of sinusoidal carrier wave is given below:
c(t) = acsin(wct+ϕ)
where ac – amplitude of carrier wave
wc – frequency of carrier wave
ϕ – phase of carrier wave
During modulation, any of the above 3 parameters can be controlled by the message signal.
Thus, there is mainly three types of modulation:
- Amplitude modulation
- Frequency modulation
- Phase modulation
