Firstly what people say is that they use english word ’weight’ i.e. they mean their mass.  Never intermix the terms of science with that of english.
 
NEWTON is the SI unit of force. 
Weight is the force of earth on the given mass or stuff and it is has unit N by using formula F= ma.
