According to Universal law of gravitation-"Every body in this universe attract every other body with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversly proportional to the square of distance between them."
Lets assume two bodies having masses 'm'1 and 'm'2 respectively and separated by a distance of 'r'.Then law of gravitation states that force of attraction 'F' between them will be:-
F directly proportional to m1*m2 ------------- eq.1
and, F inversly proportional to 1/r2 --------------------------eq.2
combining both the equations we will get
F = G m1* m/ r2
Where,
G= gravitation constant ,6.67*10-11Nm2/Kg2
