I am having problem in understanding the definiton of electromagnetic radiations. What is meant by they are associated with oscillating electric and magnetic fields at right angles to each other and also to the direction of propagation.What is meant by this def. plz simplify this def. i hope i am able to convey the quest?

Electromagnetic waves consists of two waves electric waves and magnetic wave. suppose the em wave is travelling in x direction. Then the magnetic wave is vibrating in y direction and electric field is travelling in z direction.
