For the first leg of the journey,
V = 0 + α t1
So V = α t1
V = 0 + α t1
So V = α t1
for the second leg of journey of duration t - t1
0 = V - β (t - t1)
0 = α t1 - β t + β t1
0 = V - β (t - t1)
0 = α t1 - β t + β t1
t1 = β t / (α + β)
V = αt1 = α β t / (α + β )

Take alpha to be a and beta to be b
Take time for acceleration be t
Time for deceleration = T-t
we know v= u+at
Initially car at rest,
So after acceleration,
v= 0+at
Velocity before deceleration is at,
And after deceleration is 0,
So, v= 0= at-b(T-t)
Thus, t= bT/(a+b)
So maximum velocity is,
at= abT/(a+b)
