first u have to find the cross product of these two vectors......i hope that u know how to find cross product...
(3i+j+2k) X (2i-2j+4k) = 8i-8j-8k
now this one is the property of cross product that the cross product of two vectors gives the vector which is  perpendicular to both the vectors.....
now as we get this perpendicular vector we just have to divide it with its modulus or magnitude sqrt(64+64+64).......
therefore the anwer is 
r = (8i – 8j – 8k) / 8[sqrt(3)]
              OR
r = (i – j – k) / sqrt(3)
              OR
r =(i – j – k) / 1.73
