From Einstein’s photoelectric theory,
light gets emiited from the sorce of light in the form of bundeles and he called it photons.
he gave therfore an eqn. 
E =hv
h is plancks constant and the v is the frequency of the light emitted.
Now for the photoelevctric process would take place if and if only the wavelength of light has rendency to overcome the Work Fuction enrgu that is also called threshold frequncy energy.
fron the eqn.
E = W + K.E
hv = W + K.E.
