Rest mass of photon is taken to be zero.the actual formula of einsteins equation is [(m(suare)*c(double square) + (c*p)(whole square)], so by his equation the rest mass of photon is zero and also you can practically think it because if mass depends on einsteins equation on mass and velocity then at speed of light the mass of photon would be infinite and then it would be infinite then we would not be possible to withstand light that is made up of photon...
