The flow of the fluid is depending on its viscosity. If the viscosity of the fluid is large, the flow of the fluid is slow and the converse. Sometimes, it happens that the flow of fluid ceases due to its high viscosity. Also, the viscosity of the fluid increases as the temperature decreases.
In cold countries, the viscosity of the engine oil increases due to the decrease in the temperature. So, the oil ceases to flow into the engine due to large viscosity which might damage the engine of the automobile. Adding multi-viscosity engine oil maintained the viscosity of the oil which allows the steady flow of the oil into the engine.
