When the velocity of an object is zero at an instant, the acceleration need not be zero at that instant. This statement is false but I have a doubt that at the top most point in motion under gravity is 0 but acceleration is g downwards. Please clear my doubt.

This statement is true. you can take the example of shm at extreme position velocity is 0 but acceleration is not 0 even motion under gravity is the example. so this statement is absolutely true
