When a question says “ given that the string does not slip on the pulley” we use a=alpha*r to solve the problem, but how exactly do we get this?

in the case of ideal pully,the pully not rotates on its axis,the rope will slide on the pully without friction,but in this case there will be some friction b/w pully and rope,which will apply a torque b/w rope and pully.
