law of cosine
= a² + b² - a·sin(B)·b·sin(A) - a·sin(B)·b·sin(A) + 2ab·cos(A)·cos(B)
  = a² + b² + 2ab(cos(A)cos(B) - sin(A)sin(B))
  = a² + b² + 2ab(cos(A + B))
  = a² + b² + 2ab(cos(180° - C))
 
= a² + b² - 2ab(cos(C))

The Law of sin establishes a relationship between the angles and the side lengths of

a/sin(A) = b/sin(B) = c/sin(C).
