The question asked here seems for the wedge type situation where the object lies on the plane of the wedge.
After doing com;onents of the forces we get as mgsinthetha and mgcosthetha.
And the friction force would be => uN => u*mgcosthetha.

The question is incorrect. Force of friction acts opposite to the direction of motion .So if it is a horizontal plane than its the friction will be in the direction opposite to direction of motion and NO COMPONENT OF FORCE ACTS ON THE SYSTEM ,as the surface is always horizontal and not inclined .
