Two skaters on ice hold a rod...There mass is different and initially com at origin....now one of them starts pulling the rod and moves towards the other....where relative to the origin will they meet

as the net external force on the skater rod system is zero hence the center of mass remains at rest....the forces that the skater apply are internal fores...hence the skater an only meet at a single point that is origin so that the center of mass of the remains at the origin which would otherwise shift if they meet anywhere else....
