Two identical spherical masses are kept at some distance as shown. Potential energy when a mass m is taken from surface of one sphere to the other :
(a) increase continuously (b) decreases continuously
(c) first increases then decreases
(d) first decreases then increases

c is the answer
you can say that if mass is at the surface of any of the sphere it has same potential energy
take the 2nd case when the mass is in between both sphere then everything is same except the distance and ptontial energy is inversely proportional  to the distance and the distance is decreasing so the p.e is increasing
so the p.e is increased firstly when  the particle is moved and then it decreases to make it same on others surface
