Two cars A and B are moving west to east and south to north respectively along crossroads. A moves with speed of 72 km/h and is 500 m away from point of intersection of cross roads and B moves with a speed of 54 km/h and is 400m away from point of intersection of cross roads. Find the shortest distance between them?

When A and B are at a distance 500 and 400 m respectively from the point of intersection, so at that point of time th shortest distance will be equal to the hypotenuse of these right angled triangle whose base and altitudes are 500 and 400.
