Two blocks of masses m and M are connected by an inextensible light string. When a constant horizontal force acts on the block of mass M. The tension in the string is (1) mF/(M+m)cosθ(2) mF/(M+m)sinθ(3) MF/(m+M)cosθ(4)MF/(M+m)sinθ

The force is constant as given.
So the x component of the tension acting on the string we can consider that as the force.
So we know F=ma=(m+M)a
          =>a=F/(m+M)
Then Tcos theta=ma=mF/m+M(putting the value of a)
=>T=mF/(m+M)cos theta
 Hope it will help you.
