Three ants are sitting on the vertices of an equilateral triangle of side a. At time t=0,ant 1 starts approaching ant 2 with a speed v ant 2 tarts approaching ant 3 with speed v and ant 3 starts approaching ant 1 with a speed v.
  1. find the time when they meet.
  2. The angular velocity of ant 2 with respect to ant 1 at t=0
  3. the angular acceleration of ant 2 with respect to ant 1 at t=0
  4. the area of the equilateral triangle formed by the three ants at any time t=a/4v

Since it is an equilateral triangle hence angle between each side will be 60
For ant 1 and 2
Relative distance between them=a
Their relative velocity=v+vcos60=3v/2
Hence time taken to cover relative distance a with velocity 3v/2
T=2a/3v
Similary we can find out other time which will be same
Angular velocity of ant1 wrt ant2 =(velocity of ant1 perpendicular to line joining them+velocity of ant2 perpendicular to line joining them) /distance btw them
=(0+v√3/2)/a
=v√3/2a
