Answer is A,
   Since the velocity is increasing for first half of the time distance must also increase till that time . At time t/2, the velocity of the particle is negative which means that the particle has turned again and is moving again on the same path . But its distance must increase till time t. hence a must be the answer.
 ADDITIONAL ::::   If we were to ask the displacement time curve ,  it will become negative at time t/2 and the net displacement will be zero as the particle returns to the same location.
