The second block(of mass m2) is pulled by a constant force F. The stiffness of the spring is x and the normal length of the spring is L. We are required to calculate the maximum and minimum elongation of the spring.I am not looking for the complete solution of the problem, only looking for explanation of one of the reason on which solution is based.So the solution of the problem states that the maximum and minimum elongation of the spring will be when the relative velocity of the blocks is 0.I am having trouble accepting this.
