Write down the displacement in vector form.
S= xi^ + yj^ + zk^ 
we know that derivative of s = velocity.
Take erivative and put the value of t as 1 this would be v1.
again take derivative and put the value of t as 0. This would be v2
average velocity = Total distance travelled / total time taken 
So find s magnitude  by putting t=0 and at t=1 .
Add them and divide by 1 . 
This would be average velocity, and ans is 8.38 m/sec.
