The position of a particle is given by the equation s=f(t)=t^3-6t^2+9t Find the total distance traveled by the particle in 5 seconds

total distance travelled = 28 units
given s=t3-6t2+9t
find v(t) by differntiating both sides
v=3t2-12t+9
v=0units   at t=1,3
therefore the paricle will change direcion at these moments
simply integrating v(t)from  t=0  to t=5 will give displacement
so integrate as follows
01v(t)=4 units
13v(t)= -4 units ****we will take mod because we have to find distance and distance can’t be negative
35v(t)= 20 units
therefore total distance =28 units
